Rental Terms

By booking a vehicle with Car & Go you accept these terms. They are written plainly so you know exactly what to expect.

1. Definitions

• "We", "us", "Car & Go" · the rental company based in Corfu, Greece.
• "You", "renter", "driver" · the person making the booking and/or the named driver(s).
• "Vehicle" · the car or van you have reserved.
• "Rental period" · from the pickup time you confirmed to the agreed return time.

2. Booking, deposit, and cancellation

Booking is free. No credit card is held at booking. You confirm your reservation by replying to our confirmation email or WhatsApp message within 24 hours of receiving it.

Cancellation: free up to 48 hours before pickup. Cancellations inside 48 hours forfeit a one-day rate.

No-show: failure to arrive at the agreed pickup time without notice forfeits the full first-day rate.

3. Driver requirements

At pickup you must present: a valid driving licence (EU or international permit accepted), passport or national ID, and the booking reference. Additional drivers must register on-site (€4/day).

4. Insurance, deductible, and security deposit

All vehicles include third-party liability + Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with deductible. Theft Waiver included.

A refundable security deposit of €500–€1500 applies (depending on category) · held by card terminal authorisation at pickup, released within 7 days of return assuming no damage.

Optional Insurance top-up (+€8/day) reduces the deductible to zero on most categories.

Damage caused by gross negligence (drunk driving, off-road, racing, wrong fuel) is not covered by any insurance and is fully chargeable.

5. Fuel policy

Same-to-same: the vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Missing fuel is charged at pump rate + €15 refuelling fee.

For electric vehicles: returned with at least 80% charge or charging fee applies (€0.50/kWh + €15 surcharge).

6. Cross-border driving

Driving on the Greek mainland is included. Driving outside Greece (Albania, Italy via ferry, etc.) is not permitted without prior written agreement and a specific cross-border insurance endorsement · surcharge €25/day applies and requires 48-hour notice.

7. Late returns

Up to 1 hour late: no charge.

1–4 hours late: €10/hour.

Over 4 hours late: full additional day charged.

8. Mileage and usage

Unlimited mileage on all categories. Vehicle is for personal use only · no commercial use (taxi, ride-share, delivery), no racing, no driving instruction, no towing without prior agreement.

9. Damages, accidents, and roadside

In case of any accident or damage:

1. Call us immediately on +30 698 512 1879 (24/7).
2. If there is third-party involvement or injury, call 112 first.
3. Do not admit liability. Exchange details and photograph the scene.
4. Complete the European Accident Statement form (in the glovebox).

24/7 roadside assistance is included. Replacement vehicle within 2 hours when the breakdown is mechanical (not driver-caused).

10. Traffic fines and tolls

You are responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, and tolls incurred during the rental period, including those received by mail after return. Administrative fee €15 per fine.

11. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond reasonable control (extreme weather, strikes, government action, natural disaster).

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes are submitted to the competent courts of Corfu, Greece. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14. Updates

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. Bookings are governed by the version of the terms in effect at the time of confirmation.
